An expected winter storm forecast to move through the northeast has forced NASA and rocket manufacturer Northrop Grumman to scrub both this morning’s scheduled rocket launch from the NASA Wallops Flight Facility and the back-up launch day on Friday on the Virginia coast. The launch has now been pushed to 4:01am ET on on Saturday.
The Antares rocket is taking the Cygnus cargo spacecraft to space where it’ll rendezvous with the International Space Station. The unmanned craft is bringing more than 7,000 pounds of supplies and science that’ll be used on the manned space station in the coming months.
